Benefits of Edible CBD

CBD is a molecule known as a cannabinoid found in the hemp plant. Cannabinoids are abundant molecules found in the cannabis plant among Terpenes, Chlorophyll, Fiber, Wax & Fat. Cannabinoids are the key to therapeutic benefits, especially when activating the Entourage Effect by combining cannabinoids with plant adaptogens and other full plant extracts. As a result of the entourage effect, we find that the cannabinoid-produced therapeutic benefits are enhanced within our edible product lines (Gummies and Botanical Tinctures).

What about long term side-effects?
Hiram and Jarrett have both been consuming CBD & THC consistently for years. We never suggest more than 100 mg of daily consumption. Read more about FDA guidelines here.

How does CBD effect the body?

CBD, THC and 100+ other cannabinoids react with our bodies on the cellular level. Specifically, these molecules react at specific neurological receptors known as endocannabinoid receptors which compose the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The endocannabinoid system is an endogenous series of neurons located in our brains, connective tissues, glands, and even in the nucleus of immune cells. They function as cellular communication to suppress inflammation, pain, and some research suggests that endogenous THC (anandamide) selectively suppresses memory formation (like forgetting where you parked your car from 2 weeks ago, AKA unnecessary information).

So far, we have only discussed how this system operates without any consumption at all! When we consume cannabinoids, we exercise this system.

Benefits of Topical CBD

How do topical products work? Great question! Topical cannabinoid products do not enter the bloodstream (except for trans-dermal products like patches). This basically means that any topical product applied to the skin stays in the dermis (upper
layer). At high concentrations, topical products can effectively deliver a high dose of cannabinoids to the cellular receptors located within the skin, activating the endocannabinoid system (ECS) locally.

Local activation of the Endocannabinoid system may have the following properties:

  • No psychoactive effects
  • Targeted Relief
  • De-activation of sweat glands
